Luxury Unisex Holiday Gift Guide

Holiday gifting is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I enjoy the challenge of what would be unique and personalized for the person receiving. Beauty gifts are treasurable gifts to shop for one’s love, friends and family, especially when they receive a luxury fragrance or skincare. For 2022 I focused on a few new unisex fragrance launches by Chanel, Tom Ford, & Kilian Paris for those who covet the “it” fragrances, three of which are unisex. Aside from fragrance, skincare by Malin+Goëtz is a brilliant unisex skin & body care brand which any age or gender would enjoy. Lastly, I considered the urgency of gift shopping over the next week: my gift guide suggestions have multiple online, last minute purchase options which remove the stress of in store shopping.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum
A new mens fragrance launched in 2022, Although it’s focus is masculine; the amber vanilla base notes along balanced with top notes of Cardamon, Ginger, Neroli, Mandarin orange, and middle notes of Kulfi,Organge Blossom , Bulgarian Rose and Jasmine give this parfum an erotic feminine edge. I applied it and the deep neroli and Italian mandarin dominate then envelop to a heightened spicy, sensual accord of Bulgarian rose, jasmine, guaiac wood, Bourbon vanilla, leather and suede with a lasting but not overpowering silage. The first version of this fragrance was created in 2015, the new version is a gender neutral Parfum, due to its sweet and floral notes. The metallic gold bottle with the chic Tom Ford logo is a gorgeous parfum for him or her , but most definitely for those who covet and collect Tom Ford Perfumes.

A Kiss From A Rose By Killian Perfume
A new scent by the iconic luxury fragrance house, Kilian Hennessy worked with perfumer Alberto Morillas to create the blend ;” I wanted to express the petals and the thorns of roses”. With this theme an olfactive antithesis : Velvety rose petals contrasted by a sharp vegetal accord for a “Swinging pendulum between beauty and danger, opulence and transparency.” When I tried this fragrance in their Paris boutique on Rue Cambon, I was completely enamored with both the uniqueness of the scent and the sultry, subtle layers of rose de mai, jasmine sambac ( sourced in China) white musk and Cypriot. The boutique it self is an immersive experience unlike no other I’ve experienced. The fragrance is an astute gift for one who is bold yet wants to be mysterious and who prefers wear softer , sensual fragrances. All while appreciating a niche French fragrance that eludes luxury and elegance.
Maison Francis Kurkdijan Mon Beau Sapin Scented Candle
Francis Kukdjian the award winning iconic perfumer has created a limited edition seasonal candle with lacquer holiday motif embellishment. The enticing uni-sex scent of Mon Beau Sapin transports one to a snowy forest, along with the slight woodsy fragrance one might reference near a traditional Christmas tree. A perfect gift for the entertainer or the hard to shop for friend or relative on your gift list.
Paris-Paris Les Eaux de CHANEL – Eau de Toilette Spray
A new fragrance in their Les Eaux collection, launched in spring of 2022 by Chanel perfumer Olivier Polge. Paris-Paris is a sparkling floral composition which includes Citrus , Lemon and Pink Pepper top notes , Rose Damask middle note and patchouli base note. The first spritz of the pale pink fragrance is like a dreamy embrace of Paris , when the light fragrance settles in it then evokes the vibrant, timelessness of Paris and Gabrielle Chanel. The patchouli becomes more prominent after wearing for an hour or more which evolves into a unisex scent zone. It’s long lasting, light and breezy with an uplifting effect. I highly recommend as gift for the outgoing , well traveled person. Particularly those who appreciate a slightly feminine yet androgynous scent.
LES EXCLUSIFS DE CHANEL – Eau de Parfum
A twist of old -style cologne accord with top notes of bergamot, Lemon, Citrus fruits. Heart notes which add depth to this very light scent : Petitgrain, Neroli and spices are balanced with base notes of Musk and Tonka Bean. This very light yet zesty scent is balance of feminine and masculine created by perfumer Jacques Polge. When applied, it I immediately felt transported to the south of France on a hot summer day. This fragrance is for those who like a noble , almost invisible fragrance that is definitely unisex.
Paris-Venise Les Eaux de CHANEL – Hair and Body Shower Gel
A sensual scent inspired by Venice Italy a city where Gabrielle Chanel, after the death of Boy Chapel she drew strength and inspiration from the rich culture and vibrancy of the city. She was enticed by the Byzantine and Baroque art which from that point onwards became a central source of inspiration for her style and collections.
The scent has the essence of Neroli which illuminates the warm tones of an oriental accord along with notes of Vanilla and Tonka. What I enjoy most about this hair and shower gel is you need a very small amount which evolves into a delicately scented rich lather. It’s quite gentle on the skin and hair , while subtly perfuming the skin and hair. The sleek bottle is easy to travel with and a thoughtful gift for someone who focuses on scented body care as their source of fragrance.
