As we enter 2021 with the added stress of COVID cases increasing and the need to wear a mask more often, my skin has been reacting in ways I’ve not experienced in the past resulting in the newly coined term ‘Maskne’. I have dry to combination skin, however I’m breaking out more often than usual on my cheeks and chin. I wear N95 masks daily for protection, and start with clean and lightly moisturized skin. It’s a perfect ‘step one’ to my daily and nightly skincare routine. It preps my skin perfectly for cream and or sunscreen, while not creating a heavy over layered skincare feel. It’s a result driven formula , created by the slow, repeated fractionations from the Rose de Granville. The unique roses are grown exclusively in hyper meticulous , organic conditions in France, to ensure the highest level of purity. This process ensures the nutritive, deep regenerative effect of this serum. This particular product line was finally unveiled after 5 years and 150 versions. Capture Youth Plump filler is an anti-aging serum and branded for younger skin as a preventative serum. However It’s highly effective for all age groups and all skin types and I want to mention it’s a great uni-sex product. It’s gentle, light hydrating formula w created a visible plumpness to my skin when I applied the serum before a moisturizer. Formulated with powerful hydrating ingredients; Glycerin and Sodium hyaluronate which retain moisture in your skin. I also found that it mixes well with DIOR moisturizers to use night on my skin for the extra hydration boost, without irritating my maskne. CAPTURE YOUTH is another great DIOR SKINCARE serum that did not trigger breakouts, instead delivered a calming , revitalized, hydrated result.
R: DIOR PRESTIGE LA MOUSSE MICELLAIRE Rose
This luxurious cleansing mouse enriched with rose micelles is excellent at removing makeup, while gently purifying the skin. It’s a challenge to find a cleanser that not only diminishes breakouts, but doesn’t strip your skin of it’s natural oils. I applied a very small pea sized amount to my Clarisonic with warm water, it’s gentle PH formula created am immediate rich foam that quickly covered my face and neck area. A note about face some cleansers I use ; I often have to keep reapplying to feel as though I washed my face, I didn’t have that experience with this cleanser. Overall it helped eliminate my maskne , yet not drying my skin like most soap based cleansers do. After a week I had less breakouts, it also improved my skin tone , reduced the hyper pigmentation , and hydrated. Best instant blemish removal? I’ve tried everything including prescriptive retinol A. After endless experiments with various products I finally found a guaranteed blemish flattener . The Zitsticka Killa Patches flattened my blemishes within 2 hours, discreetly. What I enjoyed about these patches is they come with CLEANA prep cleansing pads formulated with exfoliating yet gentle ingredients : salicylic acid and tea tree oil.
