JANUARY HOROSCOPE
We stand at the begining of an exciting new year. 2021 brings in a strong air of change in the air. The past year laid down the foundation and awareness of the things that need to change in our lives. The blueprint of the year ahead asks us to create a harmonious relationship with transformation – which seems to be the name of the game in the up and coming months.
The inner transfromation we have been going through becomes more tangible in January, with Mars (the planet that rules our physicallity) leaving the shadow of his retrograde period and finally changing signs into earthy Taurus. The first month of 2021 has four planets ingressing new signs, in addition to Mercury going through his first retrograde of the year, and Uranus stationing to go direct. It is no coincidence so many new cycles are beginning and ending for the next month, as we prepare for the future.
For the last six month, Mars has gone through the exact same degrees of Aries where he travelled retrograde and back – an intense retrospective journey where we have come to realize the power our mind has in shaping our realities. Mars in Aries took us through the Hero’s Journey – and as he ingresses Taurus we are ready to apply and integrate our experiences of the past months into the material world. In Taurus, we are invited to take grounded and concious action into the activities that bring true value to our personal transformation.
Mercury, the planet of communication, has been travelling through Capricorn, and on the 5th he conjucts Pluto at 24° of the earth sign, starting a new cycle between both. The beginning of the month offers fresh new ground, and the intensity of this communion between Mercury and Pluto suggests powerful and intense uncoverings coming into our awareness. This is a great time to add depth in our communication and getting to the bottom as to how 2020 transformed us from the inside out. We are definitely not who we were just a year ago.
The next couple of days bring in various planetary ingresses, starting on the 6th with Mars entering Taurus where we begin to feel more calm and supported. Mars in Taurus is serious, and brings projects that are important to him to the front of line. The past few months have brought into view what our true calling is, and our paths have been lit. Mars in Taurus asks us to take concrete action towards working our newly-lit path. The 8th is a huge day as Mercury ingresses Aquarius, while also starting a new cycle with Saturn. Our minds receive important downloads of how we are looking to intregate our new social conciousness. Our current conditions are inviting us to elevate how we interact amongst one another in light of the current limitations imposed by our obligation to reestructure. On the same day, Venus enters Capricorn, where she also gets a bit more serious and connects us more intimately to the depths of Source energy – allowing us to find groudness in our intuitive will to carry forward the plans that are close to our hearts.
Eris, the Goddess of Discord, stations to go direct on the 10th at 23° Aries. The dwarf planet is part a group of trans-Neptunian bodies that move very slowly through the elliptic, so when they station, we really feel it here on planet Earth for a prolonged period of time. Throughout the total of twenty-six days that the planet will stay in this degree, we can expect major tumltuous energy, with big earhtquakes and storms not being uncommon. Eris’ energies are not too foreign to those transformational ones of Pluto – they ignite profound change through some kind of necessary chaos. During times of strong upheaval like these, it is important to remain centered and know that storms are the events that clear out the way for a new playing field.
On the 11th, Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, starting a new cycle while giving us mental clarity and a new way in which we connect with the collective for the good of All. On that same day, Jupiter forms a lovely sextile with Chiron, the Wounded Healer, pushing us to sow the seeds of personal expasion by bringing in our new level of wholeness and personal mastery into the mixture.
We have a very concluding New Moon at 23° Capricorn on the 12th – right at the same degree of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction that ingited the pandemic. This day brings closure and new beginnings regarding the transformation that were brought upon from this cycle. Capricorn is the sign of ambition, so this particular New Moon is perfect to work towards our passion from our newly-found equanimity. We are no longer triggered by the same wounds we were used to as we have shed old ego attachements and allow new space to take up our bodies with every breath.
Thursday 14th is another huge day, as Uranus stations to go direct at 6° Taurus. The Great Awakener has been retrograde since August, and his shift into forward motion implies quick and sudden changes or revelations. Uranus’ stations are usually felt five days before and after the event, so we can expect to be hit by a Uranian storm of important awakenings. Five days after his station, on the 19th, Mars conjuncts Uranus starting a new cycle between both and signifying the culmination of revealing energies being manifested in our bodies and our environments.
The Sun enters Aquarius on the 20th, bringing our vitality (Sol) into alignment with our new social consciousness (Jupiter and Saturn). Aquarius energy is centered around the collective, technology, and spiritual awakening. Also known as the water-bearer, Aquarius collects water (or emotion) on Earth and transforms it before pouring it back. The next month provides a healing opportunity to find out how we can best move forward and take off with our plans.
By the end of the month, a powerful Full Moon in Leo awaits us, forming a wonderful light bridge with Jupiter in Aquarius. Another powerful lunar event with sudden twists and turns, while inviting us to leave our egos behind, gain confidence, and step fully into the leadership role in our lives. January ends with nothing less than the first Mercury retrograde of the year in Aquarius. The Great Messenger turns its energy inwards and will be providing us with the clarity regarding how we can help each other shine.
