As we are in another high alert due to the increase of covid-19 cases, I’ve been washing my hands excessively throughout the day. I’m left with dry, cracked skin despite the fact that I’m using gentle hand washes such as AESOP, Meyers Clean Day, Seventh Generation scent free etc. It’s known fact that the combination of soap ,water and hand sanitizer breaks down and removes your skin’s natural oils and moisture barrier. After enduring seven and a half months of obsessive hand washing and dry hands, I wanted to share some of my favorite hand creams which have restored my skin. . I have tried and tested these products over a period of two months ; they are now my antidote to excessive but necessary hand washing.

Rose of No Man’s Land is the nickname given by soldiers to the nurses who saved thousands of lives during WW11. The scent is a tribute to selflessness and compassion. This title resonates with me considering the current pandemic. The scent — Turkish rose absolute , Raspberry blossom, Pink pepper, Turkish rose petals, White amber & Papyrus — of this luxurious hand cream is soothing and centering while the rich formula is velvety and deeply moisturizing. What I like about this brand is their use of raw ingredients such as Shea Butter. I recommend applying this hand cream before you go to sleep as the scent is calming and the formula has time repair dry skin.

Jami & Klaus Heidegger the co-founders of Retrouve launched this incredible hand cream ahead of their original release date as Jami stated ‘ Hand Care is a health concern ‘ . Retrouve is one of my favorite skincare brands as they do not economize on the concentration of ingredients. The formula for this product is fragrance free, with a magnificent list of ingredients ; marine extracts , brightening niacinamide, vitamin c, a natural retinol alternative bakuchiol and sustainable panthenol and avocado oil. The Heidegger’s grow their own avocados at their Malibu farm which is one of the key ingredients and underlines their brand manifesto : permaculture that supports organic , potent ingredients. I’d classify this hand cream as restorative and anti-ageing as It’s very hydrating .

La Crème Main is the lighter of the CHANEL hand cream formulas, which I found to be ideal for repeated daily use. I love the unique ergonomic egg-shape as well as the spill proof packaging. When it comes to curating beauty products to try and review, I habitually prioritize brands with botanical based ingredients. Chantecaille skincare is high on my list for gentle yet highly effective results due to their natural formulations. Needless to say I was excited to try their Retinol Hand Cream labeled as a healing treatment. It’s 89% natural which includes a healing base of pure rosewater; paraben-free and vegan-friendly. The Retinal Hand cream is an advanced formula in which I experienced amazing results after 7 days. It clarified, softened, and restructured my hand skin texture.
