THE BEST ANTI-AGING SUNSCREEN
Anti-Aging Sunscreens are a personal obsession and important to my daily skincare regime. I was enlightened over 15 years ago by my Dermatologist: Dr. Heather J. Roberts of the absolute importance of sun protection for face and body. As she is an authentic and highly acclaimed anti-aging, sunscreen expert in the world of Dermatology, her esteemed advice became my bible of skincare. Her recommended products and treatments resulting in; no deep lines, minimal dark spots, and smaller pores an unthinkable goal for anyone over the age of 45. I will confirm I have not tried; retinol treatments, peels, laser treatments, injectables, anti-aging medical facials. However, I receive a max of 50 units of Botox once a year.
As sunscreen production and its technology continue to evolve we are faced with so many options to try with key goals: prevent skin cancer, non-toxic, and the slow aging process. All while our skin is exposed to the increasingly damaging sun and toxins in the environment. I wanted to share sunscreen products I have tried over a period of time, as it’s vital to note the results of each product and how their ingredients support anti-aging for all skin types. Consider this review part 1. There are so many stellar products currently available.

Anti-Pollution Mattifying Cream &
Ultra Sun Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Primer
Chantecaille’s skincare is one of my favorite vegan, botanical formalized brands. The lightweight Anti-pollution cream is a gentle yet powerful blend of Botanical antioxidants that act as protection for your skin from heavy metals and skin-damaging pollution. I applied a thin layer in the AM and PM and experienced the amazing, pore minimizing results that gave an overall flawless look. The mattifying cream blends well under the Ultra Sun Protection SPF 45 Primer. It’s oil-free, mattifying lightweight facial sunscreen which they infuse with soothing botanicals. The delicate formula works as an ideal primer under makeup or over moisturizer. The stabilizing sun filters block both UVA and UVB rays. The Antioxidant and soothing formula consisting of cherry blossom, lemon balm, and white tea extract delivered a firm, toned skin effect while minimizing the appearance of wrinkles.
This product does not contain Paraben, phthalate, sulfate detergent, mineral oil, petrolatum, palm oil, synthetic colors, synthetic fragrance, GMOs, and animal components. They are a Cruelty-free, Vegan brand. Chantecaille is the lightest of products I tried which had lasting resulting in direct hot days light and Ideal for all skin types, especially sensitive.

Daily Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen
I remember discovering this brand at Space NK in my past home base in West London and became an immediate follower of their iconic botanical-based cleanser. Since then I have the pleasure of experiencing their luxurious, lightweight yet moisturizing facial sunscreen. This particular sunscreen formula contains Niacinamide ( Vitamin B3) which stimulates new collagen growth while moisturizing your skin. Vitamin C aids in reducing the appearance of age spots, lactic acid gently exfoliates, Paracress flower extract provides a firming and lifting effect. The unique ingredient: Photostabilizer offers a high level of UVA protection. It’s rich yet mid-weight formula works well on my dry skin as both a moisturizer and a sunscreen. I recommend this product for combination to normal skin.

Renergie Lift Multi-Action
ULTRA Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Lancome’s recent addition to the Renergie Skin-care line: Multi-Action ULTRA sunscreen is the ultimate union of anti-aging benefits along with sunscreen. I found it’s luxurious lightweight texture melted into my skin without a heavy greasy residue. For me personally; a sunscreen for the face and décolleté must have long-lasting moisture, SPF, and aid in minimizing the dark spots that accumulate with long term sun damage, this product delivers that and a firming, lifting effect. I felt hydrated for over 12 hours and didn’t feel a need to re-apply. Their lightweight formula contains Jojoba, sunflower oil along with a key anti-aging ingredient: Linseed sourced exclusively in France. This can be added to the must-have list of award-winning, multi-result driven skincare products by LANCOME. For all skin types, all ages.

Sun Drops SPF 50 Broad Spectrum Sunscreen
When I think of sunscreen for my face I traditionally look for a cream. However, this innovative Clean beauty, Anti-aging sunscreen by DR. Barbara Sturm is a fantastic result-driven formula. It’s light, sheer serum texture was easy to apply over my face cream without any residue and left my skin feeling velvety soft and hydrated. The unique formula protects your skin from UVA, UVB rays, reduces dark spots, fine lines, and redness. The highly effective ingredients which include; Hyaluronic acid for moisture, Green Tea leaf, a complex of Cassia Extract, Vitamin E, and Beta Glucan to protect against premature photo-aging check all the boxes of natural, safe and effective sunscreen for the face. Dr. Sturm’s skincare manifesto is based on treating skin with scientifically-proven ingredients and nonaggressive natural extracts. Her background in anti-inflammatory medicine is a reassurance when I try her products, there is something to be said of brands created by a Doctor. Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30
& Umbra Tinted Physical Daily Defense SPF 30
Drunk Elephant: not enough superlatives for this sunscreen brand! I tried to ignore all the awards and incredible reviews to ensure an objective review. It was a challenge as I couldn’t ignore the amazing sheer, non reside texture, and the long-lasting results it had in the sun. When I first tried these products I was exposed to extreme UVA and UVB rays on the shores of the high altitude Lake Tahoe while vacationing, I forgot to reapply after 2 hours. However, I did not burn (only a few products worked in this environment more reviews on those to follow) Its not waterproof, but somehow managed to protect my skin after a swim.
The formula is extra gentle and invisible I forgot I was wearing sunscreen. It’s important to weigh the results with the ingredients; Tiffany Masterson the founder of this brand formulated products without fillers instead with Biocompatible actives; in other words, mixed synthetic and plant-derived extracts. Due to their ingredient elimination manifesto, the ‘unsafe 6 ingredients’ are not to be found ( silicones, drying alcohols, SLS, fragrance, dyes, chemical greens, and or essential oils). Drunk Elephant a safe, gentle sunscreen for all skin types.
