AUGUST HOROSCOPE

Article by Juan Marco Torres

Can you believe we have reached the high summer already? We should be proud of how far we have come throughout these game-changing past months. Starting with the extremely rare Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in January, we were followed by a series of potent eclipses that have catalyzed massive awakenings and restructurings in our lives. With the Sun being its domain (Leo) for most of the month, August is a chance to catch our breath. But don’t become too comfortable. August sets the stage for what is to unfold for the final four months of 2020, so it is essential to pay attention and prepare for what is bound to be an finale for the books.

When a month begins with an Aquarian Full Moon, expect the unexpected. The Full Moon in the sign of the Great Awakener takes place on August 3rd, forming a stepping stone (square) to Uranus in Taurus. In our old three-dimensional world, a square symbolizes tension between the two planets involved, a conflict to be resolved. But in our new, five-dimensional realm, we can rise above our emotional reactions and through our higher perspective, come up with mindful responses. As we reach the peak of yet another lunation cycle today, the powerful Aquarian energy in play invites to harness it by pushing ourselves outside of tradition and of our comfort zones. Anything that we had accepted to be true in our lives is coming into question, challenging the prevailing status quo in and outside of ourselves. Where have awakened into a higher purpose? This Full Moon asks us to allow ourselves to participate in this newfound purpose, opening the door for us to create something new (perhaps that we had never considered before) and that elevates us All.

Coming out of a powerful Full Moon, we transition into an altered frequency where the veil between different dimensions begins to get thinner, opening the Lionsgate Portal on the 8th. The Lionsgate Portal activates during the same period every year, marked by the alignment between the Sun, the Earth, and fixed star Sirius. During these days, we receive massive jolts of electricity into our heart and third-eye chakras that propel our spiritual advancement. This a prime opportunity to elevate and expand, calibrating our vibrations to superconscious levels and higher dimensions that are available to us at this time. The more in tune our vibration is, the greater our awareness, allowing us to perceive a greater alignment with ourselves and with the shifting energies around us.

We want to start paying close attention what starts unfolding on the 13th, when Mars creates the first of three stepping stones to Pluto. This day will provide important clues as to what expect for the coming month when Mars begins his retrograde in September. Mars in Aries is decisive (and sometimes impulsive) action, while Pluto is death and rebirth. Today we feel a deep desire for change that has been fueled by the awakenings we have been experiencing. What constructive actions can we take that lead us to our new path courageously while letting go of something that doesn’t work for us any longer?

On the 15th, Uranus stations to go retrograde at 11° Taurus, in a conjunction with fixed star Albion. Uranus can awaken and illuminate in the most unexpected of ways, and the star Albion manifests these energies through sound. This retrograde period can be the call that announces a new revelation as long as we are silent and grounded enough to listen to it. Uranus’ introspective journey encourages us to reevaluate all of the realizations we have already come upon. Are we trusting our intuition? Or are we talking ourselves out of it, becoming distracted by fear-based thoughts? We have until January (when Uranus stations to go direct) to answer these questions, and the world as we know it is completely changed.

The New Moon in Leo occurs on the 18th. Uranus’ retrograde has already started posing questions about how to move forward. This New Moon offers a clean slate, begging us to set the boldest and bravest intentions for the coming years. We are getting rid of some thick karma debris, and our new clarity encourages us to come to terms and take advantage of the new world we are creating for ourselves

We step into Virgo Season on the 22nd, marking the start of an exploration of the Divine Feminine and reminding us of just how powerful it truly is. Virgo is an earth sign representing the purest form of feminine energy, or the virgin. When I think of the Virgos in my life, they are all characterized by a potent sense of being free to do as they please. They do not need anyone to find their own wholeness, they are already complete in their identity. When we are able to sense this wholeness, it serves as an example for others to realize this same state within themselves. For the next four weeks, our job will be to be like them, letting our consciousness shift into finding this emotional wisdom.

As we reach the end of the month, it is important to keep our eyes open as Mars creates another of its first of three squares. This time he comes head-to-head with Saturn. This brings a burning desire for action, but one that can be followed by cold and harsh realities that restrict us from taking those desired actions. The smartest approach on this day is not be limited by the failures encountered. In turn, it is time to reassess our strategies.

The month ends with a beautiful manifestation (trine) between Venus in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces. Manifestations represent harmony between the planets involved. We have the Goddess of Love and Beauty happily paired with the planet of dreams and creativity. Together, they send romantic and artistic vibrations into the Universe – wonderfully illuminating our way into the Pisces Full Moon in the beginning of September. August is the time to come back into alignment with ourselves, infusing our higher perspective and superconscious wisdom in everything we experience in our daily lives. The old,  that which is no longer useful must make its way out. When we achieve alignment of our minds, hearts, bodies, and spirits, we become more capable of becoming fluid, adjusting to rapid change and recalibrating to 20/20 vision.
